Core GIS tools do not require analytics. Essential browser storage supports preferences, autosave and local project recovery. Optional analytics starts only after you select “Accept analytics.”

Local projects and recovery

GIS Albania may store project state in your browser using IndexedDB and local storage. This can include drawings, attributes, field notes, photo/video attachments, layer settings, map view and service links. Local project data and attachment files remain on your device until you delete browser data, delete the related records, or clear site storage.

Project storage

Named projects and autosave recovery are stored only in the user’s browser through IndexedDB. Portable .gisalbania.json files and .gisalbania.zip field packages are created locally and saved wherever the user chooses. ZIP field packages may contain the project, notes, photos and videos selected or captured by the user. GIS Albania does not upload or retain project geometry, attributes, field media or project files on its server.

Map permalinks encode only compact view and public-service state in the URL. Users should review a permalink before sharing it.

Optional analytics

After consent, Google Analytics may receive standard usage information such as page visits, device/browser information and approximate network-derived location. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in the GIS Albania configuration. You can change your choice from the Privacy settings control in the application footer.

Error and security reports

Privacy-minimal application error reports may be sent to help diagnose failures. Project geometry, uploaded files and complete service URLs are not intentionally included. Content Security Policy reports use a separate endpoint and separate quota.

Third-party map services

When you use external basemaps, WMS/WMTS services, geocoding, elevation, PMTiles or COG URLs, your browser connects directly to those providers. Their own privacy terms apply.

Your controls

Do not accept: analytics stays disabled for the current visit.
Essential only: analytics stays disabled and that choice is remembered in this browser.
Accept analytics: anonymous usage analytics is enabled and the choice is remembered.
Download portable project files or complete field packages containing linked photos and videos.
Delete named browser projects and browser storage.
Keep, move or share portable project files directly without GIS Albania server storage.
